Why Beach Volleyball?

It is widely known that the Beach format of two-on-two offers an incredible boost to the stamina and skills of a player and can have great benefits for a player's indoor game as well. With the opportunity to add more passing, more setting, more hitting, more jumping while having more fun, it’s the ultimate outdoor sport for volleyball enthusiasts.

To capitalize on these benefits, One Beach has offered assorted opportunities for our club members and other interested players over the calendar year - including regular tournaments, individual or group lessons, special event tournaments, and participation in USAV AZ Region sanctioned events. One Beach Club is the natural progression for those who see beach volleyball as a main staple in their future. And with the NCAA near to adopting Beach Volleyball as a Championship sponsored sport (see post here), the opportunities are wide open for making it a path for players to earn a college education.

Club One Beach Continues to Build on the Momentum!

Club One is excited to have Beach Volleyball as a staple of our club since we started in 2010. Beach Volleyball has garnered tremendous International attention over the past decade. And with the recent success of our US Olympic teams in 2008 and 2012, the sand game has earned a huge following in the US as well.

To further grow the Arizona talent in this sport, Club One began fielded One Beach Club Teams in the spring of 2013 to compliment our already popular training, clinic and tournament offerings. The inaugural season was a huge success, with over 30 teams, from ages 12 through 18, of both girls and boys participating.

We recognize that Beach Volleyball is here to stay and are committed to bring a year-round offering of training and tournaments as the demand warrants. Keep informed by staying connected with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

In January of 2010, the USA Volleyball Board of Directors approved a new position for Managing Director of Beach Programs as part of its initiative to create short- and long-term growth for the discipline. In April of that year they filled the position (http://usavolleyball.org/news/article/35390).

Among the makings expected to boost the sport of Beach Volleyball over the coming years is its inclusion as an NCAA emerging sport for women, which began in August 2010 for Division II schools and August of 2011 for Division I. The University of Arizona, Arizona State University & Grand Canyon University are all fielding teams this season - adding yet another avenue for talented, hard working players to earn a college education. And just this October, the NCAA Division I Legislative Council approved a measure to establish a national collegiate championship in the sport (read post here)!

To top it off, in 2011 our own AZ Region of USAVolleyball lobbied the AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Athletics) to allow High Schools in Arizona to field Beach Volleyball programs on a pilot basis - the only program like this in the country. The number of Arizona High Schools adopting the sport continues to grow in this, it's third season.
